Community Development with the LOOP Project

What is the LOOP Project?

The LOOP Project (Looking Out for Others Potential), is all about connecting people in their neighbourhoods and supporting community development across Gloucestershire.  Through a network of local community-minded people employed by Gloucestershire Gateway Trust and managed by our community partner GL Communities, neighbours have more opportunities to meet each other, attend social events and also to share their skills to help others.

Target Communities

Read Debbie's first LOOP blog: connecting communities
Our incredible team of Neighbourhood Connectors have been bringing people together for over a year now across Matson and Robinswood, White City and Stonehouse.

Their hard work in getting to know residents, their interests, needs and skills, and being able to connect them to each other though social events, groups and phonecalls has helped many people to make new connections.

This has proved incredibly valuable throughout the current pandemic, enabling residents to retain socially distant connections as well as an awareness of residents needing additional support.

Get involved

Working with local Residents’ Associations and other community groups, the LOOP team includes:

Neighbourhood Connectors – who  find, motivate and
support local hosts; and
Local Hosts – who connect with the neighbours around
them, listening to views and helping neighbours to get to
know one another better.

If you’re interested in being a Local Host, please contact us.
