Winners announced for our Winter Walks Photography Competition

26/2/2021

When the UK went back into lockdown in January, we knew it was going to be a tough time and wanted to do what we could to encourage people all across Gloucestershire to safely take daily walks to benefit their physical and mental health.
We've been blown away by the entries across all age groups.  Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust - one of our community partners - kindly and independently judged the competition for us.  Entries included landscapes, nature, wildlife and lot of snow, and certainly gave the judges a tough job but we are pleased to announce...

WINNER - over 16's category
Richard K

Richard took this image on a walk between Longlevens and Innsworth. Jenny, one of the judges from Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust said: “We loved how this close up shot almost represents the transition from Winter to Spring, with the snow resting on the flower”.

Mark Gale, Chief Executive of Gloucestershire Gateway Trust said: "The judges certainly had a tough job, the entries were all fantastic.  We're delighted to give all entrants a free hot drink on us from the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust café at Robinswood Hill so they can keep exploring and taking magnificent photos.  A big thank you to the judges from Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust too."
In addition, the winners will have their photos displayed at Robinswood Hill.  See more of the amazing entries below...
