There are lots of resources being created to help our older generations through the current coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis, here our some of our favourites. Please share, and contact us if you find anything else that's useful for us to add.
Helplines and more from Age UK Gloucestershire
Age UK Gloucestershire are helping older people through the current situation in three main ways - they have a helpline to resolve specific issues and give guidance, as well as an out of hospital service for people recently discharged; there is another phone line for people in isolation to have a friendly 20 minute chat with someone and stay connected; as well as supporting people who want to help. Check out their dedicated website page at Age UK Gloucestershire.

Keeping moving with Sport England
Sport England has launched a 10-minute audio exercise routine aimed at keeping older people healthy and active during the coronavirus lockdown. The series has been created and fronted by 73 year-old fitness instructor Terry Keen who said: “During self-isolation, I’m embracing the chance to stay active - I hope we can inspire others to move more and simply feel better during this time.” You can listen on BBC sounds or watch videos after broadcast.

Lockdown dinners with Tom Kerridge
Local boy Tom Kerridge grew up in Matson, Gloucestershire, and has recently been on our screens with people from the area looking to lose weight, but now Tom is sharing 'lockdown' recipes, using leftover ingredients or items likely to be in your fridge. Don't forget if you are isolating and need help with food or shopping, there are people in your area that can help - check out our page about food support. Plus, if you have someone that can pick it up for you, Gloucester Services are now offering a fantastic click and collect service for fresh local produce.
